A 27–year–old Grand Island woman accused of having sex with her teenage stepson has pleaded no contest to sexual assault.

Prosecutors lowered the charge, and dismissed a separate incest charge in exchange for Michelle Almonte–DeJesus' plea.

Police say the boy was 15 when his stepmother, Almonte–DeJesus, began having sex with him. He is now 16.

Investigators say the boy's father reported the crime after catching his wife and son in the act.

Enrique Almonte-DeJesus Jr. says he suspected something was going on with his wife and son after he thought he saw them kissing one day, so he came up with a plan to catch them red-handed.

"One day prior, I went downstairs and I saw them kissing, sitting on the couch," he said. "I had my doubts, and I acted as if I was going to work, and I returned and found them having sex in my home."

Now, he says he hopes she pays for the pain she's caused him, and their entire family.

"[I want her to] pay for what she has done" he said, "the damage she has caused me emotionally and everything. She turned my son against me and he now threatens me with death."

Last November, Almonte-DeJesus pleaded not guilty to first-degree sexual assault on a child and incest charges, and waived her right to a jury trial.

Police say the sexual assault occurred between January and June of 2012, and the incest occurred between June and August.

Almonte-DeJesus was released from the hall county jail after posting $5,000 bond, and was ordered to have no contact with her stepson.

She will be sentenced May 8.
