Bertrand Man Dies After Fall - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

BERTRAND, Neb. (AP) — A 54-year-old south-central Nebraska man has died after falling about 10 feet and striking his head on concrete.

According to The Lincoln Journal Star, Michael Streit, of Bertrand, died early Saturday.

Phelps County Attorney Timothy Hoeft says Streit was returning home with two friends around 3:15 a.m. when the accident occurred.

Hoeft says an autopsy has been performed, but authorities are awaiting toxicology test results before declaring a cause of death. Hoeft says investigators don't suspect a crime was involved in Streit's death.
