Good Samaritan Hospital's Cancer Center and the Kearney Family YMCA are joining together to host Family Health Day Saturday, March 23.
The event starts at the YMCA at 10:30 a.m. with a 1-mile fun run/walk. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Participants will receive a free t-shirt.
Following the race and running until 1 p.m., health activities will be set up for families to enjoy on a come-and-go basis. Healthy snacks, a giant super colon inflatable and nutrition education booths will be set up for families to enjoy.
The Prevent Cancer Super Colon teaches individuals about the risks, symptoms, prevention, early detection and treatment options for colorectal cancer.
Attendees will also have the chance to win bikes, an iPod Nano, or gift certificate.
The event is being funded thanks to a grant from the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
