A group of middle school students from Kearney Community Learning Center (KCLC) will be presenting information to raise awareness about light pollution and the harmful effects that it has on wildlife.
The students will present at the Rivers and Wildlife Conference held in Kearney on March 22. The same KCLC group will be presenting information about light pollution to the City Council on March 26th. The youth involved in this project will be asking members of the Council to recognize March as a "Dark Sky" month. This would mean that each year during the month of March KCLC youth would host different events to raise awareness about the harmful effects of light pollution.
