Nature Filmmaker Shares Importance Of Conservation

Posted: Updated:

Conserve our planet and protect different species. A research filmmaker brings that message to Central Nebraska.

Nature videographer Bill Wallauer spoke at the Crane Meadows Nature Center Saturday morning about his work with environmentalist Jane Goodall, and helping preserve the chimpanzee population in Africa.

Through his works, he witnesses first hand how much we should appreciate even the smallest things, like the crane migration that brought him here to Nebraska.

"That's what nature does," said filmmaker Bill Wallauer. "All those worries of the western world and all the issues of our daily lives are cured in an instant of that mesmerizing experience in nature."

Wallauer continued his presentation with a showing of his Disney film "Chimpanzees" at the Grand theater in Grand Island.
