Lexington Man Named 11th District County Court Judge

Gov. Dave Heineman has named Jeffrey Wightman as 11th Judicial District County Court Judge.

The 44-year-old Lexington man is taking the place of Judge Carlton Clark who retired at the end of 2012.

Whitman is currently a partner at Wightman and Wightman where he handles civil, criminal and juvenile cases. 

He is the son of State Sen. John Wightman, also of Lexington.

Wightman also serves on the Lexington Board of Education and is on the Board of Trustees for the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation.

He has a Bachelor's degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University and Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law.

The 11th Judicial District consists of Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow and Thomas Counties.
