Development breeds development, and it's looking good for Kearney's commercial business sector.
Kearney's Second Avenue continues to be the main gateway through town making it a prime location for commercial development, but it's running out of room.
Although the south end of Second Avenue is filling up, officials say there is still room in other parts of town.
"You will continue to see things continue to develop on the north end of Kearney," said Kearney realtor Matt Meister. "And you will continue to see those spot houses in between down by the hospital area, they'll get gobbled up by commercial development."
Meister adds the central area is prime commercial ground, but landowners must be willing to give up property in order for development to continue.
