Construction detours are causing safety concerns for a local hospital.
Good Samaritan Hospital officials say drivers trying to avoid the 2nd Avenue construction are using the parking lot to get around it.
It's been creating a challenge for patients mainly due to mobility issues they may have, so officials urge drivers to use caution.
"We understand that you may not understand you're in a parking lot but in a private hospital driveway until you get there," said Good Samaritan's Larry Suhrmeier. "We would just encourage you to slow down and move through slowly and then next time try to follow the detours around the campus if you can."
Signs have been posted along the south side of the parking lot, and striping has been added in front of the Cancer Center.
