Highway 281 Accident Sends Two to Hospital

Posted: Updated:

A two–car collision on Highway 281 has sent two people to the hospital.

Kaylyna Vonbehren, 18, and Patricia Leyza, 19, were rushed to Saint Francis Medical Center around 9:40 Saturday morning, after Leyza struck Vonbehren's vehicle while attempting to make a left turn.

Authorities say Vonbehren was driving southbound on Highway 281, when Leyza — who was traveling north — attempted to make a left turn, striking Vonbehren's car.

Leyza is pregnant and had five children and one other adult in her suburban at the time of the accident.

The Nebraska State Patrol says no major injuries have been reported, and all victims of the crash have been released from the hospital.
