A man is shaken up after lightning hit the Grand Island airport tower, during a day of wild weather in Nebraska.
Authorities say the man was working in the tower, and was on the phone with supervisors who told him the airport would be closed due to weather. The area has been hit with sleet, freezing rain, even "thundersnow".
While on the phone, the man saw a bright light that knocked him out of his chair.
The life-team crew based at the airport and airport staff responded first.
Paramedics from the Grand Island Fire Department were called to the scene at 5:00 Tuesday evening.
They say the man was shaken up and suffered a headache but he is stable. He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center for an evaluation.
