Gunshot Victim's Report Leads to Multiple North Platte Arrests

A gunshot victim's report has led to multiple arrests in North Platte on Thursday.

A North Platte Police Investigator was called to the Great Plains Regional Medical Center around 1 a.m. to talk with the 30-year-old man who was shot in his left leg. He said he was shot as he was trying to flee from an alleged carjacking taking place near the 1700 block of North Franklin.

The victim told the investigator that the person who shot him was an unknown male. While the gunshot victim was being interviewed, officers with the department began to pursue a vehicle thought to be involved in the vicinity of Oak and Second Street.

Eventually officers caught up to three suspects who had left the vehicle to flee on foot.

One suspect, 28-year-old Matthew Bobo was initially cited for obstructing an officer and released, but was later arrested,a handgun in his possession. He faces charges of attempted robbery, possession of a defaced firearm, and possession of controlled substances.

Another male suspect, 21-year-old Britton Renfrow was arrested on felony charges of attempted robbery, 2nd degree assault, use of a weapon during commission of a felony, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of a controlled substance. 

A third male suspect, 21-year-old Ethen Bentley, was charged and jailed for accessory to a felony.

Bobo and Renfrow are currently being held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
