In Nebraska, there were over 30,000 calls to report
child abuse in just one year, 2011. About half of those were substantiated. Over 5000 children were involved in those calls where a problem was found.
Kids Count is an organization that looks at four major categories to
rank states regarding child well-being.
They are education,
economic well-being, health, and safety and risky behaviors.
