Hastings – W.T. "Chip" Essex of Hastings and Jay Trofholz of Columbus are the two newest members of the Central Community College Foundation Board of Directors.
Essex recently retired as planned giving coordinator of the CCC Foundation, a position he had served in for four years. He previously was regional trust manager for Wells Fargo and various other banks for more than 30 years.
Essex earned an associate's degree in business from National College in Rapid City, S.D. and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He also completed the U.S. Army Finance School at Ft. Benjamin in Harrison, Ind., and the National Trust School at Northwestern University.
A current member of the Lochland Country Club Golf Committee and the Warren & Velda Wilson Foundation Board, he and his wife, Vonda, have two grown sons and four grandchildren.
Trofholz retired in 2010 from the Optometric Center of Columbus P.C., where he had worked as an optometrist since 1980. He graduated from Creighton University and the University of Houston's College of Optometry.
Currently, Trofholz serves the Center for Survivors Endowment as a board member. He is also an Elks Trustee and a First National Bank board member.
He and his wife, Jeanine, have four grown children and two grandchildren.
