Kearney Area Animal Shelter Partners with ShoeBox Recycling

Posted: Updated:

The Kearney Area Animal Shelter has partnered with a company called ShoeBox Recycling who sends shoes to needy people around the globe.

The shelter raises money based on the weight of shoes that are sent in. People can drop their "worn, but definitely not worn out" shoes off at: Hilltop Mall (in front of GAP), Builders, Kearney Clinic, or Kearney Area Animal Shelter.

Shoes must still be usable and cannot have holes in the soles or mildew damage. Shoes that will not be accepted include: heavy winter boots, skates, roller blades, flip-flops and slippers.

The Soles 4 Paws fundraiser drive will run from May 1 to July 1.

For more information people can go to the animal shelter's Facebook page or visit  www.kearneyanimalshelter.com.
