CNPPID Board Approves Funds to Build Bridge Connecting Hike/Bike Trail at Johnson Lake

Posted: Updated:

The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District's board of directors has approved the use of a donation made by the Eilers family of Lexington, Neb. to build a bridge across the outlet canal at Johnson Lake.

The bridge will connect the hike/bike trail that is currently under construction at the lake.

"The Eilers family has been a main staple of the Lexington community for a long time, and this project is very fitting for them," shared CNPPID Director Dave Rowe. "A big thank you goes out to them for donating this bridge."

Chase Eilers addressed the board telling them how much his family and business, Eilers Machine and Welding, Inc., appreciates Johnson Lake and the surrounding community.

Eilers is currently building stop gates for the District's diversion dam at North Platte and has worked to complete other projects for the district in the past.
