A Kearney man charged with attempted
arson has agreed to a plea deal.
Brad Gladwell pleaded no contest in Buffalo
County District Court Friday morning. In exchange the state will recommend
probation instead of jail time.
Gladwell was arrested in January after
police responded to a strong smell of gas at his residence. Further
investigation found that Gladwell poured gasoline on the top floor of his house
and was planning to set it on fire.
His two roommates were sleeping inside
at the time.
