HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) — The
carcasses of hundreds of dead fish have floated to the surface and
collected along the banks of Lake Hastings in Hastings.
Parks superintendent Terry Brown told the Hastings Tribune that he was blaming Mother Nature, saying, "We don't have a clue."
Only shad carcasses have been seen, although there are bass, carp, catfish and crappie in the lake.
says his staffers won't be collecting the carcasses, letting Mother
Nature run its course. He says some people have been using the carcasses
as bait for other fish.
