Judge Says Neb. Work Ethic Camp Will Teach Man to be a Criminal

Posted: Updated:

A Lincoln judge refuses to send a newly convicted felon to the "Nebraska Work Ethic Camp."

Judge Steve Burns said that all the man would learn there is "how to be a criminal."

24-year-old Brett Dovell pled guilty to attempted robbery, his first felony conviction. Dovell was hoping the judge would give him probation and rehab services at the work ethic camp in McCook.

However, the judge says people he's sent to the camp end up violating probation after having problems with inmates.
