The Kearney Public Library is teaming up with the American Red Cross to hold the Read and Bleed Blood Drive to help save lives while reading a good book.
The inaugural event is being held on June 27 at the Kearney Public Library, 2020 First Ave.
The summer months are usually more difficult on the Red Cross's blood donations. School is out and many families are on vacation or just constantly on the go so this blood drive is a way to get out and donate blood and maybe catch up on a favorite novel or biography.
Officials say that giving blood during the Kearney
Public Library's Read and Bleed Blood Drive will give others the chance
to continue making memories and create their stories.
