In late February the Gothenburg Livestock Company was lost to a fire, now the owners are picking up the pieces and starting over.

Custer Economic Development (CEDC) happily announced the addition of Wendell and Kathy Brott to their business community.

CEDC helped to facilitate the transfer of the sale barn in Broken Bow into Brott's ownership. The Brott's previously owned and operated Gothenburg Livestock Company before a fire took the property in recent months.

"It is hard to express the depth of what a business like this means to the region," said Melissa Garcia, CEDC President.

"There has been unbelievable support as we worked with the Brott Family.  It is huge deal for our area producers as well as the retail and service businesses located in town," she said.

The Brott's Livestock Company will begin holding sales a week from Thursday.
