A weekend music festival brings some different cultural traditions to the area.
It's day two of the 8th annual "Flatwater Music Festival", and the daytime belongs to fun activities for kids and adults alike.
They're participating in different music–related activities, from making harmonicas to learning old–time musical traditions.
"There's a huge tradition of music in agriculture when they would get together for a barn–raising and have a dance or play fiddle on the back porch, what have you," said Prairie Loft Center's Amy Sandeen, "so we're here in this setting which we can take advantage of, we have educational aspects, and this weekend is really all about the music."
The bands continue Saturday evening, as musicians from Hastings and Nashville take center stage at the Prairie Loft Center near Hastings.
