A new horse complex tops the list as the Nebraska State Fair makes plans for future expansion.
The fair has been using the Thompson Arena at Fonner Park, but board members would like a new facility along the lines of those they built for cattle and hogs.
It's just one of several improvements the fair hopes to make.
Board Member Bill Marshall of Grand Island said, "We know anytime you stand still you go downhill. We're intent on putting on a better show every year."
Members of the fair board plan to visit equine complexes in Kentucky and Florida in the coming months. They're also looking at ways to tie-out more cattle.
