Posted: Updated:

An Ashland woman is under arrest and accused of slipping out of her handcuffs before driving away in a patrol car.

Officials say 23-year-old Jessica Lewin threatened her sister with a knife on June 30th and then forcing her to drive for several miles.

Lewin was arrested and placed in the front seat of a patrol car. Authorities say she then escaped her handcuffs and drove away in that patrol car.

The car was found later with Lewin sleeping nearby.

Lewin faces several charges including theft, reckless driving and use of a deadly weapon.
