JONESBORO, Ill. (AP) — A doctor suspected in four Nebraska slayings is waiving extradition in southern Illinois and will return to Omaha to face murder charges within the next two weeks.

Anthony Garcia appeared Wednesday in Union County court for a 15-minute hearing after he was arrested during a traffic stop.

The 40-year-old from Terre Haute, Ind. wore gray striped scrubs with orange slippers. His legs were shackled and his hands were cuffed at his waist.

He said little during the appearance, offering short responses to a judge, while leaning on his elbows at times at the defense table.

He's being held without bond on suspicion of involvement in the killings of three adults and an 11-year-old boy. All four victims had ties to an Omaha medical school from which Garcia was fired.
