Area bikers have taken their message of suicide prevention to the road.
Members of the Tribesmen Motorcycle Club met at Reno Sports Bar in Hastings on Saturday to kick off the inaugural poker run and spread awareness about their cause.
Organizers say many in the club have been touched by suicide, which is why they wanted to share the word that there is always someone to talk to.
"People need to be aware, like with us, in the club we've always got someone to talk to no matter how bad it gets and who you are," said participant Dusty Green. "There's just always someone there, you've just gotta find the right person to talk to. Like I said, I've had a family member commit suicide and it's not an easy thing to deal with for the people left behind."
Funds raised during Saturday's event will go towards a program in the tri–cities area. The club hopes to make this an annual event.
