This weekend, Kearney celebrates the 100th year of the Buffalo County Fair.
Officials say a lot has changed throughout the years; from the entertainment selections to the 4–H exhibits, but even as budgets get tighter, the county fair continues to be a family fun favorite.
"It makes it much easier for a family to travel 20 miles to come down here, possibly from one of the northern areas from Buffalo County," said Buffalo County Ag Association president Randall Schroer. "Come down and spend a day down here, a little money, and have a nice time just to get away."
The Buffalo County Fair continues July 29 with a free barbecue in the afternoon, and the 4-H livestock auction on July 30.
