Few citations were issued during the special enforcement in Hamilton County over the weekend.
The Nebraska State Patrol worked with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office to conduct a special enforcement effort on Saturday evening throughout Hamilton County.
Only three tickets were issued: one each for speeding, reckless driving, and driving without a license.
Captain Chris Kolb, commander Troop C-Grand Island, said, "We can attribute the fact
that we had very few issues this weekend to the motoring public's voluntary
compliance with motor vehicle laws."
A grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety was used to pay for extra enforcement hours.
