The Good Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center will be offering free DermaScan skin evaluations on Thursday, August 1 and will be sharing information about skin cancer.
The evaluations will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Good Samaritan West Tower classrooms.
With skin cancer affecting more than two million Americans every year, health officials believe it is important to learn more about how to be protected form skin cancer as well as see what damage the sun may have already done.
Staff will host mini presentations on skin cancer and sun safety, skin risk assessments and pass out educational handouts. The DermaScan will also help participants learn which areas of their face to keep an eye on in the future.
The event is free and requires no appointment.
