Blood donation can be a life saving contribution, but in many communities the resources needed to give blood aren't available.
The Red Cross mobile blood service was in Holdrege to give residents the chance to donate, and they couldn't be happier to help.
"I think people in our community realize the importance. They've either had a relative or dear friend that has had to have a blood transfusion. And so they see that as an important thing for them to do," explained Holdrege Blood Drive coordinator Deanna Fulmer.
Summer months are always the time when blood donations are needed most, making the turn out they saw in Holdrege very beneficial.
