From corn dogs and funnel cakes to fried alligator and "moink balls", the Nebraska State Fair is again tempting taste buds.
When it comes to food, they're combining the moo and the oink for "moink balls." In other words, it's a meatball wrapped in bacon.
The food is definitely a big attraction at the fair and the traditional favorites are back, along with some new treats, like the South Bend Chocolate Company.
The fair staff visits other events to see what's new and sometimes they bring ideas back that existing vendors add to their menus.
And they also bring in new vendors to mix things up.
Jaime Parr said, "We're excited to see people walking through the grounds carrying stuffed cucumbers, or a donut burger, pancake burgers, frog legs, fried alligator. Plus new twists on traditional favorites - new funnel cake flavors and new kettle corn flavors."
They continue to focus on the east entertainment area. So while fairgoers check out the sea lion show, that's also where many of the new foods will be.
They also have a number of new commercial vendors who all want to be part of a growing fair.
