Sunday Salute: Braden and Merle Trambly

Posted: Updated:

This week we salute two generations of servicemen, aviation ordinanceman airman Braden Trambly and his grandfather Merle Trambly.

Braden is 19 and recently returned to Norfolk, Virginia after a four-and-a-half month deployment to the North Arabian Sea stationed on the U.S.S. Eisenhower.

He is a 2012 graduate from Hastings High School and joined the Navy in June of last year.

Braden was assigned to the HS5 Nightdippers helicopter squadron in Norfolk.

He follows in the footsteps of his grandfather Merle of Franklin, Neb., a Navy veteran who served from 1943 to 1946. Merle was assigned to the U.S.S. Cimarron and was involved in naval intelligence and the FBI.

Lori Trambly nominated her father and son. She says "we salute them and thank them for serving."

Braden and Merle, thank you for your service to our country.
