While the jackpot winning Powerball ticket for Wednesday's drawing was not sold in Nebraska, one lucky person did purchase a million dollar ticket from a gas station in Genoa, Neb.
The Nebraska Lottery has confirmed that one ticket sold at a Pump & Pantry in Genoa matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball number, meaning the lucky ticket owner has won $1 million.
"Someone in Nebraska is waking up a million dollars richer today because
of the new Powerball game," said Jim Haynes, Director of the Nebraska Lottery.
Ticket owners can check their tickets at any Nebraska Lottery retailer, nelottery.com or by calling the lottery offices at 402.471.6100.
Wednesday's million dollar winner is the seventh million dollar winning ticket in Nebraska since Powerball changed its prize payout in January 2012.
Three tickets for Wednesday's drawing did match all of the numbers however. Two of the winning tickets were sold in New Jersey and one was sold in Minnesota.
The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 05, 25, 30, 58, 59 and Powerball 32.
