It's been nearly two weeks since the youth division has transitioned into the new facility at the Maryland Living Center in Hastings.
The homeless youth ranging in age from sixteen to twenty one, were previously divided in different facilities, but staff felt that having everyone under the same roof would be more convenient and effective.
"It's kind of created a family atmosphere almost. Everyone is hanging out and everybody has been begging us to leave open the library so they can finish their puzzles together and things like that so it's been really great to see everybody and have everything in one spot," shared program director Ben Dumas.
Youth currently housed at the center have all transitioned from the old facilities, and although the new facility is filling up, rooms are still available and new residence are expected to be placed.
