Charges are expected to be filed against the 26-year-old York man who allegedly shot at a York County Sheriff's deputy while trying to evade the officer.
York County Attorney Candace Dick said Wednesday that she hadn't yet charged Max McCall in the shooting because she is still awaiting reports from state investigators.
Dick says she's seen a dashboard recording of the incident and does intend to charge McCall.
According to York County Sheriff Dale Radcliff, the deputy responded
to a domestic violence report on Sunday around 4 a.m. and ended up in a
short pursuit with the suspect.
The pursuit ended when McCall drove his vehicle into a
ditch on the southwest side of York. Authorities say he then got out of his vehicle and fired a rifle twice at the deputy, who was not hit.
returned fire, striking McCall twice. He was air-lifted to a Lincoln hospital where he is expected to recover.
