Volunteers with the United Way are getting ready to sell some ice cream during the upcoming Nebraska State Fair.
Last year, over 23,500 scoops of ice cream were sold, raising $47,000 to be used throughout the local community.
The United Way ice cream parlor can be found right next to the milking parlor on the east side of the cattle barn.
Additionally, there will be two ice cream eating contests during the state fair in the Family Fun Zone tent.
Thirty contestants in three age categories (9 and under, 10-15, and 16 and up) will compete in the eating contests on Friday, August 23 and Thursday, August 29 at 5:30 p.m.
