Posted: Updated:

A 60-year-old Greenwood man who was rescued from an eastern Nebraska lake over the weekend has died.

According to his wife, Jenny, her husband, James "Jim" Lee, died Wednesday after he was taken off life support.

Lancaster County Sheriff's Sgt. Phil Lang says Lee was seen swimming in Branched Oak Lake, northwest of Lincoln, Sunday afternoon trying to retrieve his personal watercraft, which had floated away. Soon after, boaters found him face down in the water.

The boaters pulled him out of the water and called 911. Bystanders performed CPR on Lee for more than 25 minutes until paramedics arrived and he was flown to a Lincoln hospital.
