The Nebraska State Fair welcomed its One Millionth Visitor to Grand Island on Saturday morning at 9:55 a.m.
Angela Lents from Aurora and her husband Clay and children, Austin, 7, and Tajel, 4, were speechless when approached with the announcement from Nebraska State Fair Board Chair, Jana Kruger.
Clay Lents said, "It's wonderful to be the Millionth Visitors, but even better is that the Nebraska State Fair has welcomed one million visitors as the fourth year in Grand Island commences.
Kruger said, "This is great – we're very proud of what we've accomplished at the Nebraska State Fair, and even more proud that we provide family focused fun for the whole family."
Kruger said the Lents family will receive a prize package that includes millionth visitor t-shirts, a $100 gift certificate to the 1868 Foundation gift shop, carnival tickets, vouchers for free fair food, concert tickets, and a place in the daily State Fair parade.
The Nebraska State Fair runs through Sunday, September 2, in Grand Island.
