Neb. Abandons Attempt to Block Birth Control Ruling

abandoned its attempt to block a health care rule that requires employers to
cover birth control for employees.
Attorney General Jon Bruning's
office has dropped its appeal of a federal judge's dismissal of a law-suit
challenging the new law.
Bruning's office is
now exploring the best way to challenge law.
In early 2012 Bruning
joined other republican state attorneys general to sue to try to block the law.
They claimed the rule violated the rights of employers that object to the use
of contraceptives on religious grounds.
