Community leaders are reacting to the recent news of another local plant closure.
Bubba Burger in Hastings announced Friday that about 60 employees will be affected by two rounds of layoffs, possibly beginning as soon as next week.
This comes just one day after the Leprino cheese plant announced its closing in Ravenna.
Officials say they were surprised by the announcement, and hope workers will find related employment in the community.
"In the area, there is a shortage of workers in certain areas, so hopefully the people that have been working at Bubba Burgers have the skill set that maybe they can go to work for some other company in the community," said Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce President Tom Hastings. "And so you won't have any displaced families and they can kind of keep a normal life and continue to stay here."
Hastings adds the Chamber and community will do what they can to help find places for the displaced workers.
