Kearney Crossfit is now located on 25th Street just west of the University of Nebraska Kearney campus. The new, million dollar facility opened on Tuesday.
Crossfit is a relatively new workout experience that involves circuit training, cardio and weight lifting without machines.
Kearney Crossfit says these workouts transition to real life situations more than typical weightlifting and cardio.
The gym's owner, Trevor Brown, is really excited to be moved into the new place.
"Feels great it's been a work in progress for the better part of three years. We have seen this come to life of course in the last six months. BD Construction has been great helping us bring this to life. To say it's a dream come true is a little cliche. But it absolutely is -- it's nice," said Brown.
A normal gym membership costs $150 a month, but due to the opening of the new location a special dropped the cost down to $100 a month. That price is on the higher end compared to other gyms in the area that range in price from $30 to $40 a month.
Brown says the personal trainer experience is a reason for the higher price.
