Kearney area organizations teamed up over the weekend to help keep kids safe.
Old Navy sponsored its 5th annual 'Kid's Safety Event' at the Hilltop Mall on Sunday.
This event brought in 10 to 15 different agencies, teaching kids and parents everything from fire safety to the risks of a hot car.
Organizers say it's important to put the information out there.
"I just hope that people leave and they know that with all the information out there, you can keep your kids safe," said Old Navy's Ashley Kral. "Whether it's vehicle safety or it's railroad safety. I just hope that people will take heart in it and realize that it is important information and that hopefully someday this type of information can save someone's life."
Sunday's event included information booths from the S.A.F.E. center, Operation Lifesaver and Kearney Parks and Recreation Department.
