Lt. Gov. Lavon Heidemann has announced plans for a Japanese manufacturer to open a facility in Lincoln.
As part of his first Asian Trade Mission, Heidemann joined together with Morio Denki to announce the plans for Denki's first U.S. operation to come to Lincoln.
Other Nebraska officials who worked with Denki for nearly two years on this project were on hand for the announcement.
The company, with four business segments in railway, automotive, shipping and real estate, has sold
train component parts to Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing in Lincoln, which is why officials believe this is a strategic move for the company.
Mr. Tamio Takano will take over as
president of the new company. He will be joined by Mr. Koichi Tagawa in moving
to Lincoln where they will hire additional staff.
The Lincoln operation is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
