Average gas prices in Nebraska have continued their slight decent over the past week, according to gas tracking website GasBuddy.com.
Monday's report from GasBuddy shows at 7.3 cents per gallon drop in gas prices over the past week. That brings the average price for a gallon of gas in Nebraska to $3.60.
With last week's changes, prices on Sunday were down 31 cents from this time last year, but up 7 cents over last month.
Meanwhile the national average has also continue with a slight decline. GasBuddy says the national average fell 4.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.54 per gallon.
Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says consumers should be able to expect the prices to drop even further in the near future.
"The national average has seen some downward
direction in the last week, but the best is likely yet to come," DeHaan said. "While there
certainly are a few issues that could impact gasoline prices on our plate, the
switch over back to winter gasoline has begun, and I do expect that gas prices
may continue to move downward this week for most of the United States."
DeHaan says he expects national averages to be five to 15 cents per gallon lower by the end of October.
