Nebraska's preliminary unemployment rate for August remained unchanged from July's 4.2 percent.
Nebraska Department of Labor released the monthly report Friday, noting that this year's rate for August is only two-tenths of a percentage point higher than the 4 percent it was in August 2012.
The unemployment rate for Nebraska remains well under the national rate, which came in at 7.3 percent for August.
Micropolitan Statistical Areas in Nebraska saw more of a change in rates from July's numbers.
The Grand Island area dropped from July's 4.4 percent unemployment rate to 3.3 percent. The Hastings area also hit 3.3 percent in August, down from 4.1 percent.
Kearney dropped even lower to 2.9 percent in August, from July's 3.6 percent.
