A community walk goes the extra step to help put an end to a mind-robbing disease.
Over 375 walkers stepped out with much fanfare at Kearney's Walk To End Alzheimer's on Thursday.
They raised about $17,000 for those in the area living with Alzheimer's, and to fund research efforts.
"This is such a little thing we can do, but if it makes a difference, it's worth it." said volunteer Bev Muller.
"It's encouraging to know that there are so many people who are dedicated to making sure that we educate, advocate, and certainly raise funds to end this disease," said walk co-chair Toni Hill. "It's very encouraging."
Another walk is scheduled for next Thursday at Lake Hastings.
