Two communities join as one, as music and school pride fill the streets of downtown Kearney.
Royalty, bands, and school spirit, all come together for another year at UNK's Homecoming and Band Day parade.
They come together to make this an extra special way to celebrate.
"It's a great way to get college kids to get their names out there, people recognize them, just a great way to get the community together and have the campus recognized as well," said UNK's LPAC president Abby Rosenbaum. "The community depends a lot on UNK and UNK also depends a lot on the community, so it's a great way to put our hands together and just make it a great day."
Around 20 bands participated in Saturday's band day competition. UNK football and volleyball games rounded out Saturday's activities after the parade.
