Nebraska Association of Resources Districts Holds Annual Event at Younes Event Center

Posted: Updated:

The Younes Event Center in Kearney played home to the Nebraska Association of Resources Districts' annual conference this week.

The NRD conference was a jam packed two-day event filled with speakers, award ceremonies and plenty of networking opportunities for all.

Topics of water, forest and land conservation were heavily discussed for much of the conference, in an effort to continue raising awareness on ways to help conserve Nebraska's resources across the state.

"The main goal is to educate Nebraskans and to show them the different things that we do," explained Scott Snell with NRD. "We were created by the state legislature in 1972. We have a broad range of responsibilities. Some are very well known and some are a little obscure and we wanted people to fully see the gamut of the things that we do."

Various seminars of the two-day event included soil health, an introduction of the new Wildlife Control Act as well as an update on the Farm Program.
