NTV took an inside look at the aftermath destruction of the Colorado flood in Evans, Colorado.
Trailer homes could be seen propped on their side where a tree is lodged underneath. Most of these homes floated off their foundations and residents were notified this past weekend that they would have to remove all salvageable items by Sunday evening because the entire neighborhood will be bulldozed this week.
One of the home owners recalls only having 20 minutes to evacuate.
"Water was about ye deep in the living room that acted like a whirl pool collected everything and put it in the middle. Take on a little bit of someone else's trouble makes yours lighter, what good is it going to do to sit on the corner and cry. Sometimes you just gotta start over," says Randall Bisel, flood victim.
Bisel and his wife are both disabled veterans who only had two days to claim items in their home. They also said that FEMA only had one hotel available in the area and it was already full so now they are hoping that FEMA will reimburse their hotel bills.
