We may be barely into October, but that may not stop some sections of western Nebraska from seeing quite a bit of snow on the ground.
The National Weather Service says Chadron may be seeing up to 9 inches of snow in a storm moving down from Wyoming Thursday night.
The agency says the snow will limit visibility in higher elevations, but may possibly turn into rain elsewhere. Wind gusts of 50 mph may also be whipping through the Panhandle further hindering visibility.
Sidney is forecasted to see only about 2 inches of snow.
