Mother, Son Sought in Connection to Webster County Murder Jailed in Iowa
A mother and son being sought in connection with a Webster County homicide were arrested in central Iowa over the weekend.
Shelley Casterline, 41, and her 23-year-old son, Andrew Casterline, are being held in the Jasper County Jail on unrelated theft charges. Authorities say the pair, both of Guide Rock, Neb., allegedly mugged a woman in a parking lot in Newton, Iowa on Saturday.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the mother and son are wanted in connection to the death of 68-year-old Guide Rock woman.
The agency says an officer from the Webster County Sheriff's Office found Virginia Barone dead in her home early Saturday morning while responding to a request for a welfare check.
The death is being investigated as a homicide. No other information is being released at this time.
